What the hell is Today's Lies?

Today's Lies is your one-stop bullshit filter for today's political news. Today's Lies will tear through the political propaganda of the day, extracting from the spin, the distortions, the inversions, and the downright lies, what the hell is really going on.
I suspect you're not a stupid person. I suspect you even make a valiant attempt to keep up with current events. So why is it so hard to glean the truth from today's media?
The reason is because the Old Media doctrine of balance is outmoded and broken. Every story, no matter how factually ridiculous one side is compared to another, must be presented in mainstream news outlets with equal weight provided. Thus a debate over teaching evolutionary theory in public schools vs. "Intelligent Design theory" is presented as though there is some sort of 50/50 culture war on between these "schools of thought".
Never mind that, in this country, the teaching of Intelligent Design "theory" in public schools is only supported by a tiny minority of fringe religious obsessives. Never mind that it can in no way be described as a "theory" anyhow, since there is no way to prove or disprove it. Unlike, say, evolutionary theory.
Therefore, Today's Lies will eliminate the balance doctrine, and just stick to the truth. I will illuminate why our elected leaders are really saying the things they are saying. I will show why certain legislation is passed, and who is really benefiting. More important than anything else, I will discuss why we are really at war, and why we cannot seem to escape from it. Washington is a strange place. Things are never presented as they truly are. Usually, the presentation is the opposite of its reality. Sometimes, the reality is a Frankenstein over whom even its inventors have lost control.
I will be fair. I will not be balanced. I also promise to stick it to the Left as much as we stick it to the Right. There is more than enough criticism to go around.
