Our Cat Cleo

Our sweet baby girl cat Cleo passed away suddenly yesterday.  It was shocking and traumatic, what with her only being six years old, and in otherwise good health.

I was taking her to the vet to treat a mild eye infection that had just appeared, when suddenly she stopped breathing.  The doctors at the vet did all they could to save her, but she was gone within fifteen minutes.  It appears she died of some sudden onset of respiratory and/or heart failure, but even after an autopsy, the chief veterinarian cannot give us a concrete diagnosis.

We were very, very close to our sweetheart, and so was her brother Winston, who is now all alone.  Please think good thoughts for him, and for Cleo's passing soul.  She was a wonderful, sophisticated, clever and beautiful creature, and we won't ever forget her.

Will, I'm so sorry about your cat. I had one of our four cats at the vet today, and I know how devastated I would be if she were suddenly gone.

Your mom passed along your URL. This is a great site; I've added a link on my blog.

:( Pauvre Cleo - that's so sad. I met her sometimes, & she was a sweet kitty. I had to put my 17 year old cat down this spring & it was really hard, so i am thinking of you both (& Winston)

Most of our pets love us unconditonally, no matter what. Cleo was certainly a part of that group. I was always struck with how beautiful she was! That wonderful coat! And you and Sarah were so doting and caring, just as you should be. I know you miss her; I'm sorry.
