It's still way to early to get excited by anything in this election cycle. Hell, IMO, it's still to early to PAY ATTENTION. Too much money and hype in politics, not enough desire to govern. Obama sounds good, but I really have a hard time trusting anyone that wants to run. Call me a cynic if you want, but the whole process these days leaves me cold. Two years of campainging? Most of these people are currently in office! When do they govern? Our system is seriously screwed.
Hell, IMO, I couldn't agree more. The election cycle is fucked. The nominee, once decided by February 5, will then campaign straight through to the general election for the next 9 months.
Anyone you put your faith into in American politics is going to break your heart into a thousand fucking pieces. I include Sen. Obama in that estimation.
I have no idea how the hell these people can govern their shoelaces when they have to run a permanent campaign their entire fucking careers. We are clearly electing great politicians—NOT great leaders, great thinkers, great administrators, or great policy makers. Great politicians. And even at that, they still find brilliant ways to suck ass.
