Reports coming in from South Carolina that Obama won over 50% of white voters in the 18-24 bracket, and 48% of white male voters of all age groups. If that is true, that is a substantial victory, when up against two popular and well-known white candidates—one of whom is a son of the state.
In total, it appears Obama won 25% of the total white vote, in one of the most racially-riven states in the nation. Perhaps that achievement will be taken seriously by the national media—and the Clintons.

I think focusing on the racial breakdown of the vote only plays further into the Clinton camp's hands in terms of how they are trying to redefine the election -- no matter that the immediate data seems to refute their claim, it still changes the conversation from one about the future of this country to one about race, something Obama has tried hard to transcend at every step. Let's focus instead on the fact that, in a hard-fought, three way race, he pulled what looks like a clear majority of the votes, with a 25+ point margin over Clinton.
