Obama Supporters vs. Clinton Supporters

Exit polls from Pennsylvania claim that 65% of Clinton supporters would never vote for Obama in the General Election, while only 55% of Obama supporters feel the same way.  The networks are making great hay of this, and no doubt, the Clintons will add this to their pile of candidacy rationalizations.

That said, I think these numbers are hogwash.  I think they're mainly due to this: the voters who know they're on the winning side have less reason to say they'd never vote for the losing candidate, and the voters who know they're on the losing side, have less reason to say they'd vote for the winning candidate.  The losers are more dug in, while the winners are more magnanimous.  If things were flipped, the same would be true.

I know.  I visit pro-Clinton blogs all the time, and no matter how much I butter them up, I usually get a response combination of "racist", "terrorist", "faggot", "sexist", "fascist", "Marxist", and whatever else they can throw at an Obama supporter.

Man, are they bitter.

I don't actually think they're any more bitter than the bitterest of Obama supporters. It's why Stephen Colbert is calling the race "Democralypse now"

i agree. I keep assuming as an obama supporter that most other obama supporters couldn't vote for HRC; do hillary supporters really feel that way?? when we all learn how awful mccain's voting record really is wont most dems go dem? and we are back again to that 2 percent of swing voters
