Howard Fineman just said on MSNBC that in the back-channel negotiations between the Obama and Clinton camps, one of the requirements coming from Clinton is that Obama pick no female candidate as his vice-president, other than her.  If there's going to be a first female vice-president in American history, according to them, it has to be Hillary.

It's rare to see a Democrat manage to be both elitist, and sexist.

So much for Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, Gov. Janet Napolitano, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, or Sen. Claire McCaskill—all hugely talented politicians, any of which would make a terrific president themselves.  These leaders can also claim the distinction of not having gained their current political office through carpetbagging and name recognition.  They got where they are all on their own.  But who wants to trailblaze with someone like that?
