Today, McCain campaign spokewoman and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina defended Sarah Palin's executive qualifications in a radio interview:

"Do you think [Sarah Palin] has the experience to run a major company, like Hewlett Packard?" asked the host.
"No, I don't," responded Fiorina.  "But you know what?  That's not what she's running for."

Right.  Qualified to be President of the world's most powerful country, with 300 million citizens?  No problem.  Qualified to be President of the company that sells you your printer cartridges?  No way in hell.

Here's the audio:

Later in the day, speaking with Andrea Mitchell, Fiorina realized her remarks needed some helpful clarification.

Mitchell: You were interviewed earlier today on KTRS Radio's McGraw-Hill Show, and you were asked whether Sarah Palin has the experience to run a major company like Hewlett-Packard—which you did—and you said "No, I don't.  But you know what?  That's not what she's running for."

Fiorina: Well, I don't think John McCain could run a major corporation.

Really.  This isn't a prank.  She actually said both of these things.  Here's the video:

Incidentally, Fiorina really may know what she's talking about as far as who is qualified to run Hewlett-Packard.  She was, in fact, fired from that position herself.
