There's lots of very encouraging polls out today showing serious gains by Senator Obama.  Take your pick:

There's the
CBS/NYT national poll, with Obama beating McCain by a whopping 9 points, 50-41.

There's the
Associated Press/GFK national poll that has Obama beating McCain 48-41.

There's the
CNN/Time swing state polling, which has Obama leading McCain 51-47 in Florida, 54-43 in Minnesota, 51-47 in Nevada, 49-48 in Missouri, and a whopping 53-44 in Virginia, a state that has not gone Democratic since 1964.

And then there are the
Quinnipiac swing state polls, which show Obama leading McCain 50-42 in Ohio, 51-43 in Florida, and a devastating 54-39 in Pennsylvania.

You read that right: 54-39 in Pennsylvania.  Some analysts have
questioned the methodology of the Quinnipiac poll, and they may have a point.  Still: if more polls show numbers anywhere close to those in PA again, expect to see McCain pull his money totally out of the state and dump it all in Ohio and Florida.

All in all, if I was John McCain, I'd be pretty pissed too:
